In India, 60% of women are suffering from breast cancer and 40% of men have cancer due to tobacco. And these situations can be completely avoided if it detected early. This fact leads to the formation of Karuthal Camp which is an Early Detection Cancer Camp (ECDC) in the revenue district of Ernakulam. Early diagnosis increases the possibility of successful outcomes by paying attention to identifying symptomatic patients as early as possible.
The first Karuthal Camp was conducted on February 04, 2016, in association with the General Hospital Ernakulam and it was widely received by the public with love and support. Pap Smear and FNAC are the two tests mainly performed during the ECDC.
